My girlfriend got a 96 Ford Explorer to replace her Saturn that was totaled. It has the 4.0 pushrod v-6. theres no owners manual with it, so I was wondering what weight oil you guys recommend? I'm guessing 5w30, but wondered if you recommend something different for this particular engine. It has 95,000miles and I plan on doing a AutoRx treatment to it when I change oil. It doesn't run bad, but I think it could be a little better.

5w30 and motorcraft filter good engine
do you know what part# filter they call for?

Any 5W30 is fine. Mine had 158K miles on the 4.0 with regular 5w30 conventional. It didn't burn any between changes.
