Both my OEM horns on my 70 Chevelle sound horrible. I have heard that soaking them internally with WD40 overnight might free up the diaphram. Has any one else tried this procedure?

Looking to keep everything original as I own a true SS. I was wondering if the WD40 trick worked before buying replacement OEM horns? Will try tonight.

If you find a screw in the middle that's the "power screw"-- give it a twist.

Whack it with a hammer a few times with a trial between hits. Just on the back center, but not the adjustment screw. Sometimes it has a dirt daubber or wasp nest in it.

Measure the length of the screw on back, then take it out - spray wd-40 inside, then put the screw back in.

Apply power, and then adjust screw to the proper tone.
