It is possible that I'm the last person on the planet to know this, but I just detailed my jet skis for the upcoming weekend.
The first thing that I noticed was that both skis were covered with water spots. I'll need to have a little chat with my niece about not wiping them down when pulling them out of the lake.
The easiest and cheapest way to remove hard water spots from a jet ski or boat is a mixture of half white vinegar and half distilled water. Put it in a spray bottle, spray it on, wipe over it with your hand to make sure it covers the surface completely, wait about 30 seconds, then simply wipe off with a cotton towel. A few places needed a second application.
Followed it up with a quick coat of wax, and they look like new again.
I think I'll keep a spray bottle with the vinegar/water mix in the storage area of one of the skis, and mist it over the skis before wiping them down after I pull them out of the water, so I won't have to deal with water spots ever again.
Yes, it is that easy.
