Yes a bottle of Auto-Rx is expensive, but it is cheap compared to what repairs you would maybe have to do to your engine. Let's take a small block chevy, because that is what I am used too. With Frank's product, you would not have to replace:
1) Valve Seals since they would be lubricated and kept soft and pliable.
2) No replacement of the rear main seal since it would be pliable.
3) Since oil is getting everywhere in the engine the parts that need lubrication, like the camshaft, pushrods, rocker arms, would not need replacing.
Maybe eventually these things may need to be replaced, who knows, but instead of having these problems at 150,000 miles maybe you would see these problems at 400,000 miles. This may be an outlandish statement but my small block with 363,000 miles is running better than it did at 200,000 miles. So in the long run parts replacement and the labor if you can not do it yourself are more expensive in my opinion.

Gary, I think you offer the best defense yet of Frank's behavior and methodology. Perhaps it could be done differently - perhaps not. Alot of things about the kind of people this board attracts would seem to dictate that this is the way things are because it is the way they must be. Personally, I think the company would benefit greatly from a PR consultation and a website makeover... These expenses would pay themselves many times over and make potential customers and newcomers to this site less leery. Of course, it's not my company to run.

It's important to realize that I never in any post doubted the power or ability of ARX, I took issue only with the problems created by the scenario so patiently explained above. As I've said, I'm open to trying it. If and when the ARX flush takes place there will be full, clear pictures and documentation of the process and results - good, bad or indifferent. Yes, I agree that the price is high, but when I think of all the money I spend on wasteful [censored] that I absolutely don't need, I think I could spare a little chunk of change to try something like this that at least has a decent chance of being worthwhile. ...In the name of good research and fun if nothing else. Who knows, in a year's time I may be a proponent.

I agree with greenaccord on the web site needing to be updated. The sheer amount of text on the home page is overwhelming and many people will just hit the little red x in the upper right corner of their browser and "poof" a would be customer heads off to buy Berryman's B-12 or another shock treatment because they don't know any better.

But like greenaccord stated, it's not my company to run.

My take, and I will make it quick since I do work, is ARX fills a very small void in the market. A select few stand by it on her like a Ford vs GM debate. I am NOT saying it is bad but the comments by Frank are really laughable at times. This is coming from a business owner standpoint. When him or his mods say, “it is the best product with best warranty”, or it will promote engine longevity etc. I say prove it since I have yet to see it etc. This complete issue is nothing new if you look around. Been going on for years here.

I have been out here for years looking and watching since I had no need to signup. I still get PM’s, emails etc from people I have no idea whom they are or care; but they find ME. If you goggled on it [ARX], as noted prior, and find nothing I am not surprised. It will, that is WILL come down too ” you did not use it correctly” or the thread/topic WAS removed on here or edited. I have seen it many times if you do some reading. It is very interesting on it if you look around or spend some time.

I do agree that just because you are a sponsor does not mean we, customers/general public need to “buy your posts” or NOT post on the subject. If you post some product does XXX etc you better be able to reap the repercussions (good or bad). That is the way SELLING a product works. Having pictures or “no befores” is not a way to promote a product. For me, I do not need a “mil vet” logo on my name to show a little “please go easy” deal. It is an open forum as I hope it is. If you like it , post on it. If not, post on it and not remove it the post to keep it OPEN. When you have millions of dollars in equipment I do not need or want [censored] answers or rude answers. If so, I will go to another product (if need be).

I think the Amsoil dealers on here are really good and understand the pros/cons. They (amsoil) delears are down to earth etc. I think ARX owner/mods need to stop pushing certain posts on indirect product questions. They say ring packs are dirty, or top end is dirt etc. I say lets see before and after pixs. Anyone can “mis type” compression issues etc. I am again NOT saying it does not work since I have used it in 5 cars. 3 did nothing for FYI reasons.

I have asked Frank for gallons issues since my equipments needs it and got nothing on it. I use Amsoil and dino since price rules when you own a business and need barrels of the stuff.

If it works put up nice, non-rude, correctly spelled data and leave it at that. Do not make the poster fell like he is “out to get you” or “you did not ready it correctly” etc. Then for years, ARX was NOT an additive, now it is. Or show me a dealer that uses it since I would love to see that.

I have to put you on my ignore list, dargo. If you wish to discuss something with me, feel free to call me. This perpetual game you're playing is beyond my ability to cope with in time and patience. I can pull posts where you admit that Auto-Rx works. You then will say that you're prepared to "buy gallons" but are always on the fence. There you've sat for months. A scan of your posts show that you post very little outside of Auto-Rx threads. I really think that you should not use the product with your ever changing opinion of it. I'm sorry, but you've proven to be someone where satisfaction appears to be an impossible task.

My apologies to the OP if this takes the thread off course any but I just want to clear up something from Dargo's post.


Just to make clear my association with arx since I am one of those "arx mods" you think you have to tear down all the time. I've made probably less than 20 posts on Frank's forum (I don't even know). I am only a mod there b/c Frank asked me to be in the email conversation we had when I sent him pics of my maintenance dose pics, which was about the same time he redid his forum. I've been glad to relate my own experience over and over again b/c, people come and go on here. You may have heard people's testimonials before but that doesn't mean new folks have. I may not spend any time on Frank's forum but I am a moderator at saabcentral.com, where I have retold the same stories and how-tos on every mundane thing from control arms to turbo silencers to power antenna mast replacement for 5 years now. That's just the way internet forums work. I still refer many folks to a couple of good, informative posts a fellow saab moderator made in like, 2002, b/c they were great posts. I'm just glad to offer my info b/c I was impressed myself. Matter of fact, I am quite positive I have made less posts on bitog in the same time since I've been (ocassionally) helping Frank over there since I've had another kid to look after and have less time in general.

I never, ever tout arx as some magic bullet for anyone as I have never had an miraculous results myself-just solid results that I took great pains to photographically document. And honestly, I made those pics b/c I wanted to be able to support my statements when I thought I would be reporting negative results. Even after reporting my results, I wasn't extremely impressed, though others were. It wasn't until I went through a litany of other products before I realized that for all its shortcomings, arx was the best I'd found.

And just to clear up any other suspicions of nefarious activity, my own post returning to prominence in the oil additive forum this week was more surprising to me than anyone else! I have no idea who Audi Junkie is and think it's kinda crazy he uses my post to show what turbo "turds" look like to other Audi owners. It is kinda cool but kinda creepy at the same time....

I am not suprised here. Then again, I should not have too call. These should be easly expressed online on this forum for all to see both sides. Shows both sides of the debate which is a good thing.

So now a scan of my limited posts on here shows 100% potential client base? My opinion is again, ever changing since I still have yet to get what I stated above. I can be swayed easily if someone show the facts in the direction show above. Again, this issue is nothing new with this debate (as the facts have shown).

I post alot on what some people need to use with ARX and again on Amsoil products (since I use them alot in case lots).

My point is show me dealers whom use it, show me the real world data (scans of paper copies), do not have your mods play the game of supporting it (here and over there), along with showing proper business practice then I would gladely buy the product. Again when you have millions in equipment on a rock quarry I do not need non-direct and rude answers or (on the ignore list). I get that from insurance, salesman or city workers daily that cannot answer my questions from fuel prices, insurance and non-paying towns etc.

But to close I am very sorry you feel this way. Maybe in time, lessons would be learned here on how to hand issues like these.
