How's the whine? And isn't that ZF slushbox amazing. I bet that thing can actually get decent mileage...

The whine is fantastic, reminds me a lot of the 03/04 Cobra, though it is a bit louder. The exhaust note is incredible; the engine just sounds like sex.

That transmission really impressed the socks off of me, it was really well programmed and could hammer off lightning quick (and FIRM) shifts like a champion

If you have to have an automatic, the ZF 8 speed is very, VERY good- quick upshifts and rev-matching downshifts. The Dodge performance calibrations are better than in the automatic BMWs I have driven- that use the same tranny, at any rate.

Awesome car!! Can only imagine driving one with that many ponies.

I was given a brand new base model Charger as a rental for a trip down to Miami and back and I was very impressed for what it was. I enjoyed driving it for the ~700 miles I put on it. That no easy task since I swore off Dodge after owning a 94 Ram(1st model year).

The tranny was impressive and really helped get everything out of that 300 hp v6 IMO. As a family guy who couldn't afford a toy and a family cruiser I would look hard at one if I was in the market.

I just did a 1/4 mile in this car that a buddy at the speedway just bought. It was the 3rd sold in the state. It has all season tires(go figure) and I ended up doing 11.36 at 126 mph. This car is a blast to race. I just changed his head liner with the alcantara fabric and goes perfectly with the suede fabric on the doors.

What did you think of the shift programming?

Kinda have to get used to it. I had the car in track mode but sometime for the shift programming to work correctly had to let go of the gas. It doesn't really matter in a 1/4 mile that much though.

Oh and he's now running RP HPS 5w30 in it.

Of course he is, LOL!

We never let off, it just banged off the shifts, but we didn't have it in track mode. His have the latest updates on it? This one had been PDI'd very recently, so it was fully up-to-date.

The shifts are impressive. The first to second was the most noticable.
He's only had the car for a month so I'm presuming it has the latest updates but I did not ask.

Yup I had to get used to the car's shifting especially when the first time driving it was on the speedway. It is an impressive machine with detail to every little thing except for the fact that it's a 4 door car. I know the challenger SRT is the option but would have liked this in 2 door too with 707hp.

Yep I won't pay list price for a car. I don't need any car that bad. I'll buy one for dealer cost. not a penny more .

How long can this vehicle's drivetrain hold up with this much power? I'm guessing not very long...
