Also, the mentality on this board is usually of the feeling that manufacturers aren't paranoid ENOUGH about prolonging component life because their OCIs are too long, or their recommended oils aren't good enough, or their maintenance intervals are too long, they don't have enough filters (leading everyone to install Magnefines), their transmission coolers are too small or non-existant, they don't include engine oil coolers, the list goes on and on....
Yet, these same "reckless", "careless" manufacturers who want our cars to break so we have to buy new ones sooner very often program in "warm up" factors and/or print warnings in the owner's manuals about not driving "hard" until the engine is warm.
Logic alone dictates here that IF warm up is important enough that manufacturers who are otherwise accused with not doing enough to protect our investments have actually taken steps to address it THEN it is not simply a myth that engines should still be warmed up before being driving "HARD".
