Honestly go for a new android smartphone. Nexus 5, or the HTC One is still a great option

I'd love to try a WP8, but there are critical apps that I use everyday that aren't available.

I agree with the Nexus 5 and HTC One suggestions, and would also recommend the S4 and LG G2. All four are just excellent devices.

Setting up a new Nexus 5 for an employee this after noon. This little phone is awesome! It is the supreme lord and master of budget android phones. We had to get the 32gb model for *gasp* 399 since the 16gb was a few weeks out. It has been updated to Android 4.2.2 and is very snappy. I wouldn't trade my Note 3 for one but it is so much phone for so cheap.

I suggest it over the LG G2 for the price savings and i like the pure google nexus experience more than the G2's super loaded with everything experience.

I just got the LG g2 last week and so far I love it. I had my last LG optimus for almost 3 years so I was definitely do for an update. This phone is really good and so far no complaints....but like I said its only been about a week.

Android...open, so customizable, one can modify soooo much...
And only 45% of it works.

Just get an iphone

Well, my wife got me the Nokia 925 for Christmas. Hoping to get over to the mall on my lunch break today to have them activate it. My only concern is, I plugged it in yesterday to fully charge it, I always turn my phone off and charge it over night, but it turns on when ever I plug it in. I would shut it off then, and a few seconds after shutting down, it would turn back on again. Wasn't sure if it was just glitching cause it didn't have a Sim card in it, or if its supposed to do that. I'll check with them at the Tmobile stand today, but since its one off the less popular windows phones, i'm sure they'll be clueless. I'll let you guys know how it goes.

Majority of the Windows phones are a good build, compared to android, where they are loaded with cheap low powered phones. And fragmentation of the OS is another big problem.

I would go for Nokia wholeheartedly heartedly if they put androids on their phones. I have HTC One X, bought off contract when I was traveling to India and love it. If you want to reduce bills, 35orless .com is another best option.

ok, had a chance to do some research ( work is slow today:) )and it appears that the phone is supposed to turn on when plugging it in to charge, so thats a non issue. gonna see if they can activate the phone for me at lunch and hopefully I have a trouble free experience with the phone.

So far I'm loving this phone. There is absolutely no lag with anything like there was on my android phone and I love the keyboard. While I'm still trying to get used to not having the swype feature, the keyboard works so good, it shouldn't take me. Long to get the hang of it. The auto correct and copy/paste feature works so much better too. So Far I've been able to find the apps I use on a daily basis. They don't have all the games ihad on my old phone, but that's not a huge deal as I mostly surf the web with it anyways. Another thing I like is the fact that Microsoft has helpful hints all over the place in windows 8 to help you get the hang of using the phone, something that was lacking in my android phone. And the best part, for me, is that the operating system seems customizable and fresh enough that it keeps it interesting and fun to use. Time will tell if it stays that way, but i think it will. Updates are also easy to do, and so far its updated twice since I activated it yesterday. My only. Complaint so far is that there is now easy way to close apps you have running in the background, but at the same time, the way windows does it also makes it easy to go back to an app you were previously using. They apparently fixed this though in a windows update for some of their other phones that works kinda like the iPhones do, but mine does not have that particular update yet. But its nice to know that they do update windows every now and then, unlike android that almost never does. But so far, it does everything I need it to, and does it better than my old phone.
