The following was a customer product review of Pennzoil High Mileage on Walmarts site....

5 out of 5Exploer and minivan 2004 with 185,000 miles on it07/29/2013
I Used This Oil In My 1996 Explore SUV it has 346,000 miles on it. Have been using this oil from the beginning. I bought the SUV in 2000, 4 years old and 79,000 miles on it , If you remember Valvoline WAS THE FIRST OIL TO COME OUT WITH HIGHER MILEAGE OIL Back then, I have used it every time, Changed oil every 2,500 to 3,000 miles, Not one leak motor still clean and runs really strong no oil burn whats so ever in between oil changes i don't have to add any oil, Now I use full synthetic oil from Valvoline, The Trick is in keeping your oil changes every 3,000 mile, Some of this oil companies tell you 10,000 or 15,000 COME ON HOW CAN YOU SAY THAT,, YES THERE OIL IS STRONG OK,, BUT IT ALL COMES DOWN TO YOUR OIL FILTER YOUR OIL FILTER CAN'T HANDLE that much dirt It Clogs,, I don't care what oil you use Your motor is going to wear out , Look at your oil filter they are making them smaller and smaller, Face it they want us to keep buying new car/trucks ,,Example I tell you my oil company oil will last to 10,000 to 15,000 miles okay, save you money ,,,you say okay,,, Now you could run 10,000 to 15,000 miles if you add 2 exterior oil filter after market, ,Now you have 3 oil filters total on car/SUV, 2 which are over sized by 2 to 3 times bigger then your stock oil filter, Now your safe to go 10,000 to 15,000 miles ,,THEY DON'T TELL YOU THAT, ASK YOUR MECHANIC A REAL MECHANIC HE WILL TELL YOU IF HIS HAVING A GOOD DAY ABOUT AFTER MARKET OIL FILTERS ,, It all comes down to how much you love your car and Wan't it to last ,, People oil changes are so low cost now, change your oil every 3,000 mile max, As it gets older meaning 200,000 miles or more change every to 2,500 miles , You will get 300,000 miles plus That I Guarantee you,,Cost of cars/trucks are getting Higher and Higher , Look over that last 25 years what happened in cost of new cars or trucks ,, You Will save Money in the long run if you keep your oil changed every 3000 miles and use good oil like max life or other High Mile oil ,, Thank You For readying. I hope I didn't bore you... lol

This is NOT a review I did, I was browsing oil prices online on Walmart, and seen the same review on a few other High mileage oils as well.

Thoughts?

Personally, I found this review odd in the sense that in the 1990s too early 2000s I drove a few vehicles well over 200k miles and a few over 300k abusing them and doing oil changes whenever i had time or remembered, some around 6-8k miles with whatever was cheapest or on sale at the time.

Too assume 2500 mile changes just because its got over 200k miles is quite the bold statement IMO without proof too back it anyways...

Wow,,,, that person sure does like to use commas,, Painful to read,,

Just think if he changed his oil every 1,000 miles, no wait, every 20 miles... he could've gotten, like, a bajillion miles out of his engine!

To be honest, as painful as it is to read, if this guy gets few people to change their oil regurarly, even if a bit too short, I think overall it will be a good thing.
Too many people neglect their cars nowadays with too long OCIs with no top off in between. At least short OCI's will, hopefully, mean that the engine is not too low on oil by the time they change it.

The 4.0 OHV in his 96 Explorer is tough as nails. Probabl could have changed it every 10k and it still would have made it 300k.
