There is no mystery here. Grasscutter said he/she had done a lot of city driving and idling. Starting in January/cooler temps. The OLM is doing it's job. Change the oil.

Many of you guys go 7000 to 10,000 miles on full synthetic. Do you make it that far without the OLM going down to zero?

I've had it go to 0% before. It usually happens around 10k. I've posted used oil analysis from that OCI and everything looks pretty good.

Kinda doubt the oil filter had much to do with the color of the oil if that's how you're determining clean.

Agreed. In gas engines heat does more to change color than anything else. Low speed driving likely never gets the oil up to temperature.

So,….is it possible that you didn’t reset the OLM? That would explain you getting down to near 0% from 30% in 3,500 miles. Could it be that simple?
What is this vintage GM V6? You know better than to come in here with that vague description. This is BITOG!
