Walmart High Mileage / Valvoline Maxlife

Ok...here I go again, I was looking at the back of the Walmart High Mileage oil and Valvoline High Mileage oil... The W-mart High Mileage is "energy conserving" while the Valvoline High Mileage is not.
I would be more prone to use a brand name High Mileage oil if I were using High Mileage if they were engergy conserving.. How does Walmart's brand do it, or what do they do differently to make their High Mileage oil better for fuel economy?

The Walmart oil is qualified to GF-4. Not qualifying to GF-4 is most likely due to one of two things:

1. HT/HS is too high to achieve the fuel mileage requirements
2. ZDDP is too high to achieve the max phosphorous requirements.

Usual difference is HM formulas. Most are on thick side of
their grade (probably to have a second chance to slow leak on old car using it besides the seam swellers). Those are not going to get better gas mileage energy conserving sticker like CastrolHM , Penn HM.

The other HMs are close to same grade as conventional and more likely to get the energy conserving logo - MobilHM ,
Exxon HM and sounds like Walmart SM.

At my Walmart they still sell 5 qt Maxlife in a box for $10.50 which is close enough to the SuperTech High Mileage jug price so I'm using Maxlife.
