vw dipstick go kaboom

So I was going 50 on dirt road, driving on grass, and then going through bumpy terrain on grass with the jetta today, I started hearing boogy man noises from the engine bay of jetta, and the dipstick tube is freely moving with chunks missing

Before that half of it broke off when I tried to pull the dipstick out to check the oil just because, I only check it every month because I know vw is the most reliable engine maker that there is and their cars never consume oil.

I accidently bought two dipsticks, I might use the spare one as a sword , why is the stupid banana colored straw cost more than the dipstick, I didn't even know there was a o-ring that goes underneath the metal inlet. I can't find my drain plug.

Learn something new every time on BITOG.
Put a new orange sleeve on my Golf, now the dipstick comes out with it every time I check oil. : (
Got a HF case full of O -rings. I'm going to put a stop to it. No more. (been three years so far) !
mine is orange URO & not a VAG#, 3" or so in length. Didn't need a new dipstick either.
Check rockauto perhaps?? That's where I found mine.

Pretty common on those, I did one just before Xmas. Just more plastic junk.

I bought it on fcp euro, I get to use the oem plastic straw!

A VW doesn't need a dipstick. You just add half a quart every time you gas up and you're good.
