If there are any BigLots around you check for SLOB there. I was in one the other day and they had at least 50 bottles of the stuff for $1.99.
SLOB is 0.99 cents in Ga.

VSOT is great stuff. Only drawback is a bit thick.

VSOT is available at Napa and Kragen here. I've got a full bottle running now to juice/thicken up some Napa 5w30 synth.
Has the formula on the VSOT changed recently? I'm still unclear on that.

my napa doesnt have vsot, but they have a napa oil additive, that seems it could be vsot, or something, I havent had luck finding an msds. I do know it is made by valvoline
I get VSOT from Pepboys. At a dosage of 1oz/1qt the thickness of VSOT shouldn't change your viscosity that much, < 1cSt increase.
I haven't seen SLOB in socal since last year, same with 75k+.
Wallyworld has STP but that doesn't seem as good.

The viscosity increase with VSOT does not hamper protection during cold weather. Says so right on the bottle info - I think!
I have used the entire bottle many times - right before winter. Same quiet engine at startup -- even at 0 degrees.

I am having no luck finding it in Western Pa.
Had some trouble finding it here too. Called several oil retailers and got the big "no". Even my AAP store said they couldn't get it.
Having been a sales rep with Napa I felt if I gave them the Valvoline part #, which is 066, they could locate it. Once they had the part # their system brought it in.
I bought a case of 6, which should last me 2-3 years for what I have planned.
If it comes down to it I'll simply use a CF oil, or some diesel rated oil, where I plan on using this additive. Probably would make more sense but for now this is easier for me.

i have SLOB, but running ARX in all three right now...so I want to wait until afer the rinse cycles are over.
Wanted to try this in my 05 "Toy" since these engines are a bit hard on oil.
Currently running 5W-30 Havoline syn "blue bottle".
After running about 2/3 of a bottle mixed in for 4 days, total of maybe 50 miles, I can honestly say it has quieted things down very much. Thinking the extra moly is what did it but who really knows.
At my next OC I'll swing in 5W-30 PP without the additive as all my other cars are running PP and are much quieter than before.
Should add to insure there was no or little seperation of additives I put the bottle of VSOT on a paint shaker before pouring it in my eng.
Ain't experimenting fun?

I'm not a fan of VSOT...
To me it appears to be a huge slug of polymeric VI index improver, with a bit of ZDDP added in for the "engine protection" feature.
I used it about 2 years ago, when some members were reporting fuel economy advantages with VSOT. Poured it in at idle, about 70F degree temp in my garage & the engine just about killed!
Also, have viewed a couple of UOA's with VSOT added, and have not perceived any performance advantage from the use of this additive.

Didn't I read here that an analysis showed VSOT was loaded with Moly?
I've run a little VSOT in lots of different cars and it seems like a good product.
I have no UOA's to back it up, so it is only opinion and theory.
I usually treat with LC-20 per instructions and add a few ounces of VSOT in the middle of the OCI.

After runing my "Toy" with 5W30 Havoline syn "old blue bottle" and about 1/2 a bottle of VSOT for 300 miles the hot start clatter I was having can hardly be heard.
Now I'll run a UOA to see if there has been a major change in viscosity etc.
Think the hot start clatter is strictly oil related as this issue was not noticed until shortly after changing to the Havoline brew.
What's ironic is the prior OC had Mobil 1. With the Mobil 1 I had a rather annoying noise at idle but not with the Havoline mix.
Will likely run the current brew for a couple more months and then see what PP does. PP is currently in all my other cars and if anything they are all quiter in all situations than before.
