My new-to-me 2014 Pathfinder is costing me about $60 (give or take) to fill up with 87 octane unleaded gasoline so I wanted to explore the possibility of a flex fuel conversion.

There are no flex-fuel kits offered for a 2014 Nissan Pathfinder but I do see it offered for OTHER models equipped with the VQ35DE engine.

With some computer tuning and a bit of sloppy-mechanic hackwork would it be possible to make it work or am I in over my head?

You would be best going to a Pathfinder forum to find out what all you can do.

I do know you can mix it with no issues. I had mixed it at a 50/50 ratio in my 2002 Silverado for over 40k miles with no problems. If I ran a higher consentration I would throw a lean code. So I just kept it at a 50/50 mix.

E85 will drop your fuel mileage 20-25% so it would have to be 20-25% cheaper just to break even. I haven't seen that anywhere.

The E-85 station near me has unleaded 87 for $3.19, with E85 for $2.29. That's a 28% spread. Looks interesting for those with Flex fuel cars.
