VPS fuel injector cleaner

So Valvoline decided to come out with a 12k mile fuel injector cleaner. Once every 12k or once a year. All the others say 3k-5k. A few say every fill up??? Every 1k... The bottle is itty bitty, $20. I can get a gallon of Lucas (meh) for $27 or others for cheap. What's the deal on that?

I never follow the suggested usage on a bottle of fuel injector cleaner. They're just trying to sell more product. I might throw some techron in it when ever the feeling hits me. So far 2 bottles in 150k. And even that was probably a waste of $
