Does anyone know where I can find either the VOAs or data sheets with ppm breakdowns on S.F. SX-UP and Torco MPZ?? I also need the info on Torco RGO 80W-90 and 85W-140, but I guess i have to ask that in the appropriate forum? The search showed nada on this, BTW.

Thanks, Tall Paul.

Mola; is this stuff available in different blends, i.e.; reduced phosphorus & zinc, but increased moly & boron, for those worried about their catalytic converters? Or would that throw off the whole chemical balance (even if it were feasible/doable)??

No one type only. Decrease treatment level if you are concerned about too much Phos.

Low volativity oils can have up to 1000 ppm of P and Z, IMHO, without cat. destruction.

What's your opinion of them? I'm leaning towards SX-UP because there seems to be high regard for Specialty Formulations on this board, and I trust you guys a whole lot more than a label on a bottle.

This will be in a Wrangler along with Amsoil 10w30. I think I'll go with your suggestion and make an order tomorrow. Thanks!

Do you have the spec/data sheets on the MPZ?? Or if you have the info, could you just post the moly, zinc, boron, phos., calcium, etc. ppms?? Torco never sent me this info, which was requested a couple of weeks ago.

Geeze , the Mother of all engine oil additives

You can read about the treat rate and all the stuff about this 12oz bottle at torcousa.com

Fe 3
Al 15
Copper 3
Tin 169
Si 20
Moly 7603
Zn - trace
Phos - greater than 9999 -max of instrument reading capability.
Antimony- greater than 9999 - max of instrument reading capability
Viscosity 29.3

I have 1 ounce per quart in my Honda Riding Mower while I waited for these Lab results .

Well, I don't like the looks of the Torco VOA. Looks more like an assembly lube with the additive levels shown. Run SX-UP and forget the Torco. SX-UP looks nicely balanced and for those who are concerned about cat poisoning, note that SX-UP has about half as much phosphorus as zinc.

Worried about cat poisoning with Torco? Put less in. Nearly every other thread on additives, people recommend a few ounces of an additive per quart of oil. Why would this not also apply to Torco?

I think it is actually marketed as an assembly lube, but so is E.O.S. and that does not seem to stop anyone from using it as a low dose additive. That said, the MPZ worries me due to the extreme phosphorus content, higher tin & silicone, and no boron. Is the high antimony a double-edged sword??

Torco makes both a assembly lube, TORCO MPZ ENGINE ASSEMBLY and an oil additive,MPZ Magnetic Friction Reducer. Separate products. FWIW real live Torco tech claims no harm to cats by using their product

From website
MPZ Magnetic Friction Reducer is the same race proven, friction reducing technology in every Torco "Professional Series" motor oil. MPZ MFR is a key component to reducing frictional losses and when added to other brands of motor oil can increase horsepower and torque by as much as 1%-3%. This directly translates to improved fuel efficiency (as much as 6.3% during city driving and 8.5% during highway driving conditions), improved component durability, reduced operating temperatures, reduce oil degradation and peace of mind. Compatible with all synthetics, synthetic blends and petroleum based motor oils.

Features & Benefits:
• Improves fuel efficiency
• Increases horsepower & torque
• Increases wear protection for longer engine life
• Reduces operating temperatu

This MPZ stuff looks pretty decent! For that amount of moly and phos. Its like 15 a bottle isnt too much.

I think I might pick up a couple bottles and add maybe 6oz when I do my next oil change. I plan on using half bottle SLOB, and use Castrol StartUp 10w30.
