Additive levels seem way too low for a PCMO, especially a High Mileage version. Blackstone re-ran oil & results were the same (actually a little lower). 5 years ago today, ToyotaNSaturn, I believe, ran a VOA of Pennzoil High Mileage 5w30, and it showed very low levels of additives also.( I am unable to create a link, any help?) I think that oil was eventually checked by pennzoil, and was found to have generous amounts of p,zn,& ca. Do you think that there is something in SOPUS High Mileage oils that are affecting the readings of Blackstone's equipment? I do not know. Hoping some knowledgeable BITOGers can unravel this mystery.........Thanks all.......jringo

I sure hope so! My jeep loves QS green bottle and I've considered this stuff. Is this the one with Slick50 on the label? I dont see any in the VOA

Next time I wouldn't even tell them what oil or grade. Make them determine that from their tests.

Johnny, do you remember the Pennzoil High Mileage 5w30 that was
tested by Blackstone, and showed similar low additive
levels, 5 years ago sent in by ToyotaNSaturn ?
That is the reason I asked about SOPUS High Mileage Oils
and Blackstone, and thought there might be some connection.

Great!!! I've had this oil in the wife's car for a little over a month. Now I'm tempted to just use Mobil 1 High Mileage, and just change it 2x a year!

Hows the wifes car run? - I've found it to be a good High Mileage oil for normal OCi in worn, noisey engines. Wonder if the high Boron level negates the need for higher ZDDP?

Molakule has mentioned things like antimony(sp) being a EP/AW add that won't show up in your typical oil analysis. I believe it's possible that this could have lots of antimony but we will never know it.

Anyone know anything about SOPUS using antimony in there oils?

It's smoother, and quieter (valvetrain) than it ever has been since I bought it used in 1999.I've tried all the name brand dino's, and High Mileage oils. However, this VOA is strange.

Tell you what I'm going to do. Sometime this weekend I will drive over to Wal Mart and purchase a quart of this oil. I have a Dyson Analysis I need to use, and I will send a new sample to his lab for analysis. When I get it back, I will add the information to this thread.

I have never known for formulation of this product, but I know a lot of folks that use it and won't use anything else. So who knows.

kender, if it's doing all you say, leave it in there and be happy. It sure as heck is not going to destroy the engine in your car.

Johnny, It's not due for an oil change until April. I'll leave it in, and see how all this plays out.

Johnny, thanks for getting another VOA from a different lab.
