Vista Mail Problem

All of a sudden, my Windows Vista Mail is asking me for my password every time I open the program. I click the "remember" box when I enter the password, but if I close the program and re-open, it prompts me for the password again. I have not made any changes to the program settings. Help!

Don't use the Windows Mail built-into Vista, it's awful. Use the Windows Live mail program...it's vastly better. If you download the Windows Live mail program, don't download the Family Security item, it's quite buggy. The other Windows Live products are quite nice IMO.

I had the same problem with Thunderbird running under XP. It kept coming up prompting me for my password, even though it was saved. The errors finally went away, and I suspect it was an issue with my ISP and their mail server.

I'd suggest a call to your ISP to have them check on their email system, or you could wait on it a couple of days to see if it still happens.

What OS patch level are you at?

Are you running SP1?

Problem fixed - I ran Spybot S&D, and discovered I had a trojan on my computer. Spybot took care of it, and now my mail works fine.
