Motor cycles engines has a higher RPM compared with automobile engines and other typical differences. No matter about them. My concern is about the SSI (Shear Stability Index) for the engine oils for this type of 4t engines.

4t 10W-30 engine oil requires a VM, how to select the more adequated? Must be a 0 SSS PMA?

My location is a middle temperature wheather, no problem with the SAE grade. I´m asking your support about the viscosity modifier as part of the composition of these multigrade oils. Sloinker commented about no use of (VM) vicosity modifiers if an ester ois or simmilar is uses.
However we need to use a viscosity modifier, and the question is:
A PMA type of viscosity modifier is recomended? or copolymer olefin is just required? if this second option is the answer, what SSI (shear stability index) must have. Taking in mind the shear stress for the higher RPM (4T small engine motorcycle 4T) compared with an automibile.

Exactly what viscosity modifiers are used in any particular oil would only be known by the oil manufacturer. Don't know why there's so much concern, as people use motorcycle specific oil in their motorcycles all the time and seem to have no problems as long as they change the oil with regular maintenance.
