I was curious of the current build of regular red Purolators.

Looks like a solid competitor to the Extra Guard now. I'd like to see a metal crimp on the seam, but that seam looks pretty well adhered.

Lots of media, all pretty well spaced. Black potting adhesive looks a little messy but for 96.5%@20microns at $4.50 with a silicone ADBV I can overlook that.

Yep looks good. But will the media tear? Time will tell. I'd like to be able to trust Purolator again
Me to I would feel better about a metal crimp on that seam. I've got a Puro made microgard on my Buick Lesabre I'll cut and post next change to see.

Looks very good!
I personally have never had a bad Purolator filter in the past even with their TearOlator reputation, albeit the Premium Plus/a.k.a. PLUS(white can) or a PureONE(blue can). Nor have I had any issues with the new "L"(red can) nor the ONE(blue can) or BOSS(black cans).

I’d still go for an extra guard. Always seems purolator compensates with more media because the depth of the pleats are so shallow. Nice to see they went silicone though
