Vinyl wrap of a fiberglass boat hull

My brother wants to get the hull of his 32' Sea Ray vinyl wrapped. He did not pay attention to the waxing & polishing of the hull for many years and the boat detailers say they cannot bring it back.

I would use a fiberglass restore product, then wax or sealant and call it a day.

Vinyl wrapping is $125/foot.
 
If professional marine detailers turn down a job, there's a darn good reason. He can either live with the rig looking bad or wrap it.
 
If the boat is docked in a slip the wrap will show a lot of wear quickly. His money. Painting is a great option. I really believe it would be less annual work to have paint vs the labor of protecting gel coat.
