Vevor Tools - What Is Your Experience?

In recent months, I have seen a lot of online ads for Vevor tools. Not only only automotive tools, but lawn and garden, even kitchen appliances. It seems that in a very short time, Vevor has went from an unknown, at least to me, to offering products in most anything. And the prices are competitive.

I have always been hesitant to buy price leader items, and am particularly hesitant to buy form a company that the quality is an unknown to me. So I thought I would ask here, of my fellow BITOG DIY'ers. Have you jumped in feet first, and bought any Vevor tools? If yes, what is your experience with them? What did you buy? Does it seem to be built well? Are the materials durable? Does it perform up to what you expect out of a tool? Would you buy another Vevor tool?

Please share with the rest of us. It seems that everyone here loves tools, particularly a good value.

I got one of their UV water purifiers. It was garbage: End caps for the water-tight bulb retention portion weren't pipe thread; just regular thread. I put just the right amount of pipe sealant tape on and actually got it to hold water. Also had to put the quartz inner tube under compression to get it to seal with the o-ring stack just right. Poorly designed/ copied.

That said they look like their tools are the stuff Harbor Freight sells, but for cheaper. I'd buy again if it's not something complicated.

I have one of their roll around stools. It's okay quality wise. The small drawers/containers for storing small items as you're working doesn't still in place and falls out all the time. Other than that, it comfortable and makes my back hurt less.

It depends on what it is. I have a service cart made of some sort of polymer that has been a good value. I had one of their ultrasonic parts cleaners what was terrible. If it’s an item that’s simple to return, I will usually take the chance. Sometimes I’m pleasantly surprised.

12 T shop press, excellent item, but it does not come with HD arbor plates, had to order separately. Its already paid for itself.

Welding table, it works.

15 L ultrasonic cleaner, have used it for several hours with success.

I'm testing 10lb .035 flux wire after work today, if it works as good as any of the other wire i've used, i'm buying a bunch more.

First Vevor product I saw was a control (throttle shift/start/) for a mercury outboard
The guy selling it tried to pass it off by putting it face down under the outboard when loading it into a truck.

It was total junk and didnt function at all.

Maybe other stuff from them is better?

It's good for low use stuff that only needs to work once or for obscure parts you can't get elsewhere. I bought a power feed for my mill from vevor since the one I needed was in metric and didn't exist new so i got a smaller shaft vevor and modified it with a bushing and it's been good for years. Even a used but marginally less junky looking metric auto feed was $700 which likely didn't work either while a new vevor one was $110 shipped so it was worthwhile. I also bought a short ram for a specific job and haven't used it since.

While most Vevor items are lower quality products made to a price point, there are some decent quality, high value gems. The tough part is distinguishing the trash from the treasure.

For $150 (at the time), it works great. It was $50-75 less than seemingly identical carts that were available locally.

Bought a vevor pneumatic 15 ga finish nailer a couple of years ago. It broke the first time I used it. Fortunately Amazon to the rescue and they took it back. I don't believe they even offer that nailer now....i wonder why?

I have been looking at some of their inch pound torque screwdrivers and one of them looks suspiciously similar to a different brand that seems to be well regarded, however I can’t tell if it’s rebranded or a copy.
I’ll probably look for a capri or firstinfo.

Agree. It seems that they don't manufacture anything, they just resell generic chinesium parts, often times after hanging their name on them.

My ultrasonic took a dump in fast order. That said, some guys on Hobby Machinist have express good luck with their milling machine power feed units. I'm thinking about getting one of these based on the positive feedback. It's hit or miss.

Don't laugh, but I've actually wondered if Vevor is a scheme from our Chinese neighbors, to screw over the American consumer.

Search YT for Den of Tools' channel and Vevor -- interesting lawsuit stuff and Vevor exhibits the stereotypical "save face" Chinese attitude, which is extremely unprofessional to me as an American.

They remind me a bit of HF ~20 years ago. Some stuff is "ok" but overall you can count on subpar quality. I've basically sworn them off unless maybe it's something I'll need once and I have low expectations to begin with.

I bought the clamshell bearing puller. First one immediately came apart. Second one seems to be working. Way cheaper than the yukon clamshell.

I have Vevor knock off version of the Wen drill press. It is better than the Wen.

I have a Vevor roller stand. It’s fine.

Those are my only two Vevor tools. Point being case by case has to be.

I bought a Chinese cordless impact wrench and a Chinese cordless Ratchet finished in Milwaukee Tools red. They work fine, but I am not poverty stricken, and should have done this right. Vevor is a private label brand, where the product range from below average at best, to horrendous in the worst. Buy the real thing.
