Its a great career... I was in the USAF for 12 years then 30 years with the National Weather Service.....I retired in 2017.....and I would not change a thing....

Did you ever visit the Loran Station in Superior WI? Last time I visited, 2010, sadly it was closed and in disarray.

I proudly served in the USN but it's been a while. I received an honorable discharge 53 years ago this month (Nov.).

My Lorsta was in NW Spain near Portugal. Sad to see photos of it today.

Sorry I jumped the gun on Veterans Day. I thought it was Saturday as our church had a lunch for Veterans on Saturday. But I see it's really Monday. My employer does not celebrate Veterans Day. I have to work. (Well kind of. I am on a pre-retirement wind down until April or May).

Wife and I visited the Sacramento Valley Memorial Cemetery in Dixon, CA to visit her 2 uncles buried there. Such a somber, incredible place.

Wife and I visited the Sacramento Valley Memorial Cemetery in Dixon, CA to visit her 2 uncles buried there. Such a somber, incredible place.

Wife's father was retired Army Ranger. After he died there was a military funeral. When they handed the folded up flag to my wife and quietly said "On behalf of the President and the Secretary of the Army thank you for your father's service" it was extremely moving and sent shivers through me. It still does just remembering it.

That’s awesome, my grandfather did this during world war 2 on a B17.

Daughter had bday yesterday as a United States Marine. Interesting that it was a group in Philadelphia in a bar that started this unique group of crazy patriotic warriors.
