Note that they say, we will never base fluid service recommendations based on the appearance or smell of your vehicle's fluids. Is Jiffy Lube actually paying attention to info from DC, Hyundai and Honda now with regards to "color of ATF" doesn't matter?

You were scammed. Headlights get a lifetime fill at the factory.

Blinker and muffler bearing fluid are another thing.

We'll bring you a dirty air filter that might be yours and hard sell you on a $40 replacement.

In defense of these guys, if you go to walmart half the time, and JL half the time, their computer has incomplete data on you. So you may look overdue.

Then they give you the hard sell of "do you know the last time your ATF was flushed" and if you say no, they say "our computer says you need it every 30k" which is all true.

The gullible, ignorant consumer who can't keep a maintenance file is to blame for the sale of their premium services, IMO.

Then they get home to their spouse who says "it was changed last winter-- those sheisters are ripoff artists, they should have seen it was pink/clear/bright green" blah blah blah.

If they recommend synthetic oil for a chrysler 2.7 for example, that might meet "other criteria" where if a "real mechanic" recommended same, you would applaud them.

You think you jest. I suppose technically, the HIDs in my car actually do have "light fluid". Whether or not you could actually check it is another matter altogether...

I drilled some drain holes in my headlights. Their now self draining....

I had a Firestone try to sell me a transmission fluid flush based on smell. It was turned down.

If you have ever used Chrysler +4, you know it stinks right from the factory.

That might explain their policy.

the hid bulbs do contain a fluid.mercury.
but i would like to see you top it off!

yeah, my old 87 corolla had a water leak inside of the headlight. I had to check my headlight fluid once a week.

Don't laugh too hard about liquid-filled headlights.

I can't recall where I seen it, but liquid can conceptually be used as a replacement for electrically or mechanically operated steerable headlights.

Fill the headlamp with liquid and float a beam splitter inside. As the car turns, centrifical force moves the beam splitter to one side directing the beam left and right.
