Our new but not expensive Visio TV had less than optimal sound. Walmart had a Visio sound bar on clearance for 50 percent off.

Very easy to install the sound bar, but the sound bar sat on the bottom shelf above the TV. The sound bar power cord and it's signal cable were very visible. Wife stated the visible wires were not acceptable.

The option of running wires was not feasible. I went with 3m Velcro. Wondering if the Velcro will hold the sound bar over time?

I believe that it will hold fine because that Vizio soundbar is less than 10 lbs. and both sides of the Velcro adhesive are bonded to clean and smooth plastic surfaces.

What about mounting brackets?

Yeah I would buy brackets like @MVAR posted. I purchased similar for my parents with the same problem as you off of Amazon a few years ago, they work great. For under $20 it's a no-brainer and it'll look better than having it smashed up touching the bottom of the TV IMO.

Thanks, I should have looked at more options prior to the Velcro install.

You're going to tell us. If I was still working I could get you some MIL-SPEC fastener that would never come off.
I have super duty two sided tape, but was afraid to use it as the stuff is near impossible to remove.

One nice thing about velcro in an application such as this is that velcro typically "wears out" with repetitious fastening/unfastening.

That sound bar weighs what? 3-4lbs? Spread out over an area that size it's more than likely going to hold on longer than the TV lasts.

I have a little bit of the double sided 2" 3M tape left over that we used in medical manufacturing. I put a piece of trim (outer door skin) back onto a 1996 Grand Cherokee just hoping to hold it there for a few days until I could fix it properly with some of that stuff. When I went to fix it properly, it wasn't letting go. I don't remember exactly when that happened, but when I traded that Jeep to my SIL, it was still holding. I would guess that it had been holding for 4-5 years at that point. I know that the Jeep had achieved "I don't care what it looks like" status by 2007 or so and didn't get rid of it until 2012ish. That stuff is an adhesive like no other adhesive I've ever seen or used.

For all I know, it's still running around in Mexico....
