Vehicles with optional engines that use a different viscosity

There's a vehicle manufacturer named Vauxhall? Never seen around Detroit and between work and personal use, I travel 20-25k per year all over the Metro Area.

I'll look a little harder to find one - beginning today.

You won't likely find any over on this side of the pond. But they are pretty huge in Europe. Been around forever and have sold millions of cars there.

Could it be that the bearings and journals are the same or similar in both engines? If so, the lower power/torque of the 1.5l only requires a 20wt to handle all the stresses, whereas the greater output of the 2.0 needs a bit more thickness.

VW gen 3 ea888 4 cylinder family from 2018:

1.8 Golf = 502/xW40 (lowest power)
2.0 GTI/GLI = 508/0W20
2.0 Golf R = 504/xW30 (highest power)

Current models with gen 4 ea888:

2.0 GTI/GLI = 508/0W20
2.0 Golf R = 504/xW30 (highest power)
