If not in a hurry, you should be able to get an AAA Plus membership for ~$110 which entitles you to 3 (free) tows per year up to 100 miles. I believe they impose a 7 day waiting period after enrollment before you can use the towing service. This seems to be safer and more cost effective than doing it yourself.

Why not go on the U-Haul site and try various vehicles? They will tell you if you are OK to tow or not.
