VCT rattle

Ford is replacing my engine for oil consumption. Had 14k on it. Hopefully new engine won't use oil or have the cam chain rattle.
How much oil was it using? If it's the Ford TSB I'm thinking of, Ford says more than 1 qt in 3000 miles is bad. That actually surprises me that Ford doesn't say more than 1 qt in 1000 miles like many other manufacturers.

Initially used 4 qts in first 5k. Did the TSB and it used less, but right before they changed the engine it used about 2 qts in 3200 miles. They said they ran the truck and let it sit overnight. In the morning they found oil in cylinders 3, 4, and 6. Compression was 205 or 210 in all cylinders. They wanted to replace the heads but couldn’t get parts for a long time so they replaced the engine.

I just got my truck back last night and the new engine does the same cam chain ratchet noise on deceleration when it is cold(coolant under 135 degrees). I would hope that this one doesn’t drink oil. I don’t think the noise has to do with the consumption but it is irritating.
