Why would you take a beautiful oil like Delvac 1300, which passes the most stringent carmaker specs (like Mercedes and Porsche). And then damage it with an additive that (if it were tested again) would no longer pass the aforementioned specs? Whatev.

My main point is if you want to clean your engine, try the Delvac *by itself* first.

If 2 changes and 10000 miles of just oil by itself did not clean the engine, then you can try more extreme things like Marvel mystery stuff and Amsoil foaming pipe snake. Just my opinion.

Looking at the two oils you are using I would be surprised if you get a problem with varnish or sludge, but if you are concerned then take a real look at the sump, as looking down the fill cap does not give a good idea with many engine types. You can't see a thing with some modern engines.
Two hints that some folks miss when sludge is first starting to form is lumps at the start of an oil drain and the new oil turning black in only a few trips.

Very funny!! What is Ansoil foaming pipe snake oil??
I will check their site later.
Delvac is real good and I used it for years in some marine diesels that suffered a lot from low RPM abuse and they stayed real clean.
