Was it the full-SAPS SynPower 5W40 (API SN/CF, ACEA A3/B3, A4/B4, MB 229.3, GM-LL-B-025, VW 502.00, VW 505.00, RENAULT RN710, RN700),
or the mid-SAPS SynPower MST 5W40 (API SN/CF, ACEA C3, MB 229.31, MB 229.51, BMW LL-04, Renault RN0710, RN0700, Porsche A40, dexos2-gen2) ?

Both are excellent oils, and both would work fine, but you could stretch the full-SAPS OCI a bit longer if you wanted too.

The Valvoline Australia net-lube guide, for the Honda S2000 (2006-2009) says to use either DuraBlend 10W30 or SynPower 5W40, so you should be fine.

Got it down to 13.99 with the Valvoline cashback, right? Using exactly this oil in my 2008 Aurion for quite some time, alternating with Castrol Edge 10w30, no issues.

Valvoline is one of the big retail brands on engine oil (Mobil, Pennzoil, Quaker States, Castrol, Valvoline). They usually have A LOT of mail in rebates so price is often very good if you wait for a sale.

I prefer just to buy Napa Synthetic when on sale and not to fool around with rebates and 3rd parties trying everything to deny rebates.

Good for you, Napa is way out of my way when I can just order from walmart to deliver and then mail in a rebate from my work place, and use a smart phone to deposit the rebate check. It is actually easier.
