I do use some LC in with my Mobil 1 5w30 in the I30, but i am a bleiever that to a certain extent thicker is better could i use synpower to thicken up Mobil 1 to a GC like weight?

You could. I like the idea. Don't really know how much it will change the viscosity, nor if it will really make it a better oil.

Why not Mobil 1 Truck and SUV and LC if you like LC/M1 with a higher viscosity??

Schaeffers #132 will also do the job and it does very well with LC, also known as the brew, a 3:1 ratio of #132 and LC works well with reducing wear for me.
Rather than "mix and add," why not follow Groucho's idea and just use a thicker oil? Something like GC 0W30 gold or even Mobil 1 Extended Performance 5w30, which supposedly is thicker than the regular Mobil 1 5W30.
My '01 I30 loved Mobil 1 5W30 and 0W30 and seems to do well on the current 10W30 EP. It makes it clear, though, that it wants an oil under 12 cst.

The synpower route has the added benefit of a lot of moly and zinc.
