hi. i was thinking to use this oil for my honda civic lx 00' 262k because it's synthetic oil, and it's not that thick as conventional 5w-40.I been using synthetic oils before. Any opionions/advices?

What do you mean its not as thick as conventional 5w-40? Synpower 5w-40 is an expensive syn to buy for that car. If you want a 5w-40 Id use rotella T, which is a synthetic and almost half the cost. Does your car need a 40wt?

In my opinion, I would use whatever 5w30 was on sale - mineral or synthetic.

Why do you think the engine needs a forty grade oil?
Is it consuming oil, or is it leaking?
Is oil pressure low when fullly warmed up?
At the mileage you have on your car, if I wanted to use a forty, I'd be looking at something like Pennzoil Conventional, Quaker State Conventional or Nextgen.
You live in a very moderate climate, so a dino forty would be fine, if the engine really needs to move up a grade.
If all is well on a thirty, just use a thirty.

Agree with many of the above posts. A 5w30 is all your Civic needs....since that is the recommended weight by Honda....and possibly your Civic has been back specked to 5w20.
No need for a 40 weight, IMO. 5-30 is the sweet spot for most vehicles.

Before everyone piles on with the thin..remember its a 00 w/262k..anything over 200k the chances of oil consumption and loose tolerances go up..tolerances weren't what they are now when it was new..nothing stays new forever..
