Valvoline Restore and Protect

Half way through my 2nd VRP OCI on 2010 Nissan Cube 1.8 MR18DE w 236k km (146k miles). 5k km / 3k miles on this oil and was careful to verify the level was "full" at the start. This is what the consumption / colour looks like.

Judging by the first picture, the oil consumption for 5K km is about 500-600 ml. Most of the cars have oil dipstick with min./max. difference of 1 liter.

What OCI’s are you running (i.e. 5,000 miles / 6 months) with VRP ? Also your driving conditions - city / suburb mix or mostly interstate / highway driving ?
the owner drives mostly rural and highway. Probably a few short trips here and there. Been doing a 7,500 mile OCI. She is always within a few hundred of oil change sticker/ car reminder, the oil looks clean when I drain it and 6.4 quarts fills it to full and drains out of it so I feel 7500 is appropriate for its use. It also gets a can of Berrymans B12 chemtool every oil change in the gas tank. I've encouraged them to use it in their other car too every 3rd tank of fuel as directed.

It's deceptive and tricky to get a good look at the oil level on the dipstick with a camera. All four pics taken at the same day & time. I estimate the oil level is at 60-70%.

I have 2 jugs of used M1 EP 0W-20 at 5K miles OCI (in non-turbo, port injection), but just don't want to spend $80+ on 2 UOA right now. Those are my last 2 OCI before I started the VRP.
Yeah I wouldn't send it either. UOA doesn't tell you much of anything about oil quality I don't think.

What's the oil change history for the car? Are you burning oil? Thanks for sharing your report.
The car gets a once a year oil change with Mobil One 10W30. I only put about 4,000-4,500 miles on the car a year. It turns 30 years old in Nov 2026. Which averages a little over 5,100 miles per year. It's my dedicated highway car. I'd go through about a quart of oil between oil changes with the Mobil One. The first oil change with R&P I went through about a quart and a half over 4,000 miles. So far on the second oil change with R&P, I've used zero oil in the first 1,200 miles.

I know, I noticed that too. With the VRP is very hard so see where reaches on the oil dipstick. There is no definitive border on the dipstick like previous oils I run. It looks like the VRP withholds the dirt and the outer oil layer is very transparent and clean. I'll try to compare the VRP oil dipstick to the M1 EP I run before that. That oil had turned dark much faster and it was very easy to tell its level on the dipstick.
