Too many variables. Especially with regards to maintenance regimen of prior owners. The majority of euro oils run clean so they don't generate deposits which is kind of the point anyways.
I find it hard to believe the deposit control of this will be seen in gf7 but I would love to be wrong. I don't think gf7 will be such a big leap from gf6 in that regard but I would love to be able to buy any whatever gf7 oil that can do r&p's job for much less. Maybe they'll integrate some of it but not all in the next revision.

As I also imagined. Aoap approved the gf-7 spec in March of 2024 but r&p came out in January of 2024 but it takes a few months to properly develop and thoroughly test it at minimum so there's pretty much no way that can be the case.

I don’t think engine longevity affects new car sales in any noticeable amount. People don’t often buy new cars because the engine wore out in their old car. Usually by the time an engine is worn out it’s already on its third or fourth owner and it’s original owner may have already bought 3 or 4 new cars in that time period.
Consumption or no consumption is also not indicative of oil quality. Rings were generally issue on Audi engines (more so than VW). Just because your rings are ok now, doesn’t mean you won’t have same issue soon.

Ya same with my buddy's 2nd gen Audi TT with 200 k km, it's a real oil burner! Must be the same oil control rings that the bigger Audis also use.
