Valvoline Restore and Protect - Shortage at Walmart?

My local Walmart has plenty of semi synthetic oils, but is very light on Valvoline Restore and Protect or any specialty full synthetic oils.

I've never had a problem locating various oil brands at Walmart until this past weekend. Both local Walmart stores were devoid of Valvoline Restore and Protect.

In fact, most of the Valvoline lineup was in short supply. I've never see this before. I did find Valvoline Restore and Protect at my local O'reilly's and completed my oil change, but.... It was a bit strange seeing the "bare pickin's" at both Walmart stores.

Just wondering if anyone else has witnessed this.

I see you’re in Arizona.
@tired is “out west.”

I think I know why you can’t find any. Someone “out west” is buying it all! 🤔

Yeah, it's just weird though... Like certain Walmart stores seem to care less what their aisles and product availability is. One would think with all their cameras and computer technology, they would be more on-top of things.

I don't need to shop at Walmart. I just go to get a good deal on oil. I have a bunch of filters and therefore, am trying to just buy oil. It's easier to go to O'Reilly's and get the matched Oil and filter deal. Nevertheless...

Walmart stores are hit & miss in my experience. It just makes me wonder though...

Both Walmart Super Stores nearest me have very shallow stock. I went in January and they had a wall of the stuff, a month ago: 2 bottles (I bought them both), last week: zero bottles.

The Advance across the parking lot had 3 bottles last week. 39.99/ea

We have always been short on that oil - I got some online along with other popular (ESP, etc) lubes - even at rollback recently

Call me crazy……..but I buy car parts at a car parts store. And I completely despise stepping foot in Walmart.

I’ve never seen a lack of Valvoline Restore and Protect at orilleys, Napa or AutoZone

My local Walmart was like this day before yesterday. Oil filters were like many others have stated with no fram’s, mine had some Toyota OEM filters along with a few Mopar and AC Delco. The oil aisle was well stocked and surprisingly the biggest few holes on the shelf was Supertech. Mobil 1 was on the best rollback deal at $24.97(I think) and it was slap full.

Edit: Havoline synthetic six quart boxes were all gone*

My local walmart just finally started to carry Valvoline Restore and Protect. I haven't been down the oil isle in a couple weeks, so not sure what the stock is like there. I took advantage of O'reilly's deal on oil with a microgaurd select filter, so I didn't buy any from Walmart.

My theory about this is that people who end up as retail store managers aren't particularly intelligent.
