Valvoline Restore and Protect - Shortage at Walmart?

I've never had a problem locating various oil brands at Walmart until this past weekend. Both local Walmart stores were devoid of Valvoline Restore and Protect.

In fact, most of the Valvoline lineup was in short supply. I've never see this before. I did find Valvoline Restore and Protect at my local O'reilly's and completed my oil change, but.... It was a bit strange seeing the "bare pickin's" at both Walmart stores.

Just wondering if anyone else has witnessed this.

It's frequently out in store. Recommend ordering online. It's free shipping if you order two.

My local Walmart @ 11AM had Valvoline Restore and Protect 0W-20 and 5W-30 same with Ultra Platinum. Both say "low stock" on line, but they had it on the shelf. Yea, I'm strange, I always check if top oils are in stock, even if I'm not buying any that day. Obsession? Perhaps it is an illness. Also, the online price for the Pennzoil Ultra Platinum is $3 cheaper than in-store. Valvoline was the same price as on-line.

It's already well known online trick to make buyers place their order. I've seen it on random oils on Walmart.com, even not that popular as Valvoline Restore and Protect. And I've seen it even in other websites for different products.

Yes, it's obsession for sure. I don't know about sickness. I do the same every time I get in Walmart, regardless of what product I look for.

Just ordered another 20qt box of it the other day, hasn't shipped yet, but they haven't upped the prices on anything as of yet, so I went ahead and stocked up a little.
I am sitting on 5 boxes of Valvoline Restore and Protect 5w-30 @$120 with free shipping and will sell 3 boxes in Jul/Aug time frame. lol

This is my impression as well.

It is most certainly getting to be a hit or miss item in my area, especially in the 5w30 flavor. I have 3 Walmart locations in about a 10-mile radius from me and about 50% of the time the Valvoline Restore and Protect shelf is empty while everything else has plenty of stock on the shelf.
Side note, when I take my used oil to the local county disposal site, the trash can adjacent to it is always full of used Valvoline Restore and Protect bottles.

Certain WalMarts near me often have issues keeping the shelves stocked. I'm not even thinking of oil specifically, it's everything. The actual item out of stock is sometimes the same product being available only sporadically and sometimes random items. You have to go to more then one WalMart to complete your shopping. It's been this way for decades. Of course it's the Walmart most convenient to me that has the most issues. There used to be another Walmart near me (South Baltimore store) that was consistently well stocked, but of course that one was closed (probably because it was in Baltimore City).

You probably know this, but you can order direct off the Valvoline website to get their products. It does cost more though.

My three local Walmarts almost always have had it in stock. This past weekend two stores were completely out and one only had 0W-20.

I ended up going to Advance Auto Parts because I could get a Carquest Premium filter for free, so it made the $37.99 price more reasonable.
