Valvoline R&P 5W-30 | 5k mi OCI | 2020 Toyota Tundra

Gas mileage...... feel in the seat and on throttle .....can't feel motor run at idle and dead quiet .....no oilconsumption
Maybe the API and other oil certifying organizations can add seat feel, throttle response, and how quiet the motor is the next round of tests.

Wow, it was that clear in color after 5k miles? That's the longest I've ever heard for any oil. Engine must've been spotless inside and maybe runs cooler than most.
That engine rarely makes oil dark, unless neglected.
I am at 3,500 miles on Castrol Edge 0W30 and still looks like I poured it yesterday.

SEMI SYNTHETIC MAXLIFE ????? I run the full synthetic high mileage 5w30. Garage box oil in my wifes frontier ,,,,,,, really good oil,,,,,, got 2 of those boxes for 50 bucks lolol
I never said semi. 0w20 which is full. It’s great oil, I just ran out of my $1.92 stash of Meijer clostout. SN plus.

I don’t know that any of my cars need VRP to be honest. My oldest car, 18 rogue has 102k and basically saw nothing but maxlife synthetic that was changed between 4-5k religiously. I stuck a horoscope down as far as I could get it and it was absolutely pristine. My daily driver has 48k and a solid run of hpl ppcmo revealed next to no carbon in the filter. My wife’s has 11k on it and has had hpl for 10k of those miles. I doubt VRP would be a benefit. But I do like the idea of what it may prevent come winter time.
I am in a similar situation as I have maintained all oil changes in my vehicles since new with mainly M1 and Valvoline Advanced at <5,000 mile OCI’s. While the engine internals my be clean , I can’t readily see what condition the piston rings are in ? Therefore , I would try VR&P at least one OCI to see if any noticeable cleaning is taking place ?

That’s where I’m at. I’m not burning any oil at all, not even a drop. I don’t figure using this would make met start and just may help prevent it. My son just ran that rogue from Ohio to Florida and back for a baseball tournament- spring break, hammered down through the mountains with a sump full of HPS. It still didn’t use any. @100k, with an oil never used, I was figuring on a little burn off.

One OCI is not really enough though, most people don’t see any improvement in consumption with just one interval. It really needs 3-4 to get the job done.
