Valvoline oils: which do you like or prefer?

Oddly enough, my van is starting to burn R&P. This is my second run at it. I’ll go back to MaxLife or Havoline in the 6qt box.
This has been seen on here before. That is why I went w 3k miles oci's. It started burning on my Element between 3-4k miles. Element did not burn prior to use, was using it to remove heavy varnish. Stuck rings were fixed prior to VRP being made.

Was there any oil consumption prior to R&P? It probably doesn’t have the best noack, though as is typical for Valvoline. I think this relates to their limited use when extending OCIs.

Yeah, despite my Fit being easy on the oil, I also planned to limit the OCI to 5k. I don’t see the point attempting to run the interval out when using for its cleaning properties.

No. I have 600 miles on the second change and it’s an 1/8” below the full mark. Maybe it’s leaking? Oil cooler is a year old. It’s a Chrysler 3.6l with 132,000 miles.

My 2020 Wrangler hasn’t used a drop in 1200 miles on its first change of VRP. 58000 miles on its 3.6l.

Been using these from my stash for a while. I like

Just finished using up old stock and am moving everything to R&P 5W30. I prefer to keep one oil on hand and that will be the one in 5 gallon garage boxes.

By the title I mean: do you prefer or use more Valvoline EPHM or R&P more? Currently I’ve used both oils in family and friends vehicles. I’d safely say I love both.

All the lady’s Toyota RAV 4 sees is Valvoline EPHM or Valvoline FS HM….

The RAV runs very quiet on that. Had a bad, bad valve cover leak on that RAV… A bit of story there.. Got it fixed up and good to go now.

I run valvoline extended protection high mileage 5w30 in my ram 1500 ........super smooth and quiet .........I run the full syn high mileage 5w30 in my wifes frontier ...... bought 3 garage boxes dirt cheap ......... doesn't burn a drop and runs smooth

I may run an Oci of R&P 5w30 in my ram after this run of ep/hm ............always kept up on the oil since I bought truck new so don't see any sludge but the uoa's I've seen on this oil the wear at 7,500 is really good different brands of engine

5W-30 Euro XL-III
5W-40 A3/B4

If the engine is so dirty that it needs cleaning, then VRP is appropriate, if it is suitable for the application.
