Valvoline oils: which do you like or prefer?

Your local store has Synpower? In 2025? I’ve not seen anything sold new with the SynPower branding in quite awhile.
Yes, Synpower is very popular in my region.

Until R&P came out the only other Valvoline oil I have ever used was Maxlife and that was way back in 2001 when I first found the original version of BITOG. So I have never really been a fan of many of their oils. They aren’t as readily available up here either.
Oh, just realized you are a Canuck. Interesting it is not readily available there.

Can yall even drive Corvettes in Canada? :ROFLMAO:

I have used Napa Syn for a long time with many vehicles, and methinks Napa might be "better than Valvoline"...........let the arguments fly.

Only Vaseline Extended Protection HM 5W30 3.3HTHS
OR
Restore and Protect 3.2HTHS

Was told the HM EP has a better seal condition system and slightly better shear rating. Once you use the restore, I think you could go back to the high mileage and then occasionally use the restore.

I really dont care about VRP, but I've bought and used quite a bit of Valvoline syncromesh, 75w90 and ATF. Their prices are hard to beat.

I like Valvoline products but I'm pretty sure Kendall beat them to it.
Valvoline made the first high mileage oil in 1999, Kendall came out with theirs in 2003.

Mobil came out with a high mileage style oil in 2003 but didn't claim it as such so 2007 was their first "High mileage" branded oil

Pennzoil 2005
Quaker State 2005
Royal Purple 2005

Do you know what the Kendall logo is and what it stands for ?

Never mind I see what I did here..

I believe my mismatch here was me misinterpreting your statement conflating "high mileage" with "long drain interval".

I have honestly never knowingly used a single Valvoline oil product .....maybe the Pyroil starter fluid

Unless they happen to make the Napa Green coolant

Nothing against Valvoline products and all the buzz around the R&P must have the bean counters at Valvoline seeing dollar signs

Valvoline EP 5W-30 here.

Plus many other Valvoline products like Maxlife ATF, power steering fluid, brake fluid, xfr case, rear diff, grease, etc. It wasn't till recently in another thread that I realized I use a lot of Valvoline products.

As far as VRP, I may never use it but if I do, it'll be another year or two to see more test results. I typically stay away from magical stuff till the dust settles!

Jug of choice - synpower 5-30, or the (made by Valvoline) Napa closest equivalent hopefully on sale.

I usually use the Valvoline High Mileage Max Life. Seems to work good for me. When I sent the samples in for the Pennzoil oil test they told me it was the cleanest engine they had ever seen with that many miles and that’s all I had run in it before I ran the Pennzoil for a few times for the test. So I’ve been buying the High Mileage Max Life in the red bottle. I do miss the ez pour top though.
