I changed the fluid and filter, diff, and PS all with Maxlife and it worked very nicely. And it's cheap.
How would a Camry get around a corner with out a differential? On the I4s, at least up to 2001, there are drain and fill porst for the differential alone, not connected to the transmission. A transaxle does not take the place of a differential, it CONTAINS one.
Maxlife is selling for a good price at my local Wally, I may break my habit of SuperTech just to get a "synthetic"

It is a full synthetic ? And rated Dexron III ?

Thanks ,

It is probably rated Dexron III , but I see no indication it is Dexron VI ?

Where am I missing that ?

It is full synthetic ? I am also missing that in the add .

Thanks ,

Yes, that's it. It's rated Dexron VI, which is fully backwards-compatible with Dexron III.

They changed the formula a couple years ago, but the stock photos aren't always updated at the same time.

If you go to the store and see it on the shelf, it will say full synthetic on the bottle, and Dexron VI on the back.

Maxlife ATF on Valvoline's site

Maxlife PDS says Dexron VI

Why not get the real Toyota ATF that came with your car new?

Go to dealer and get the real deal.

However out of the 2...

I hear good things about VL Max Life...

However I have never used it.

I have used Castrol IMV

however Castrol has a Pure Syn IMV also.

When you read about Max Life in the PDF read this

it should be! noted that
MaxLife ATF is not a OEM licensed product. The respective
vehicle manufacturers have neither evaluated nor
endorsed

MaxLife ATF in these applications.

If!an OEM licensed product is preferred we recommend Valvoline DEXRON® VI, Valvoline AT
F+4®!and!Valvoline MERCON®V for!the
corresponding applications

Cool, will look into it. Thanks for the recommendation.

Im sure they have it on Amazon or go to a local Dealer and get the real deal.

Why buy the expensive Toyota fluid on a 15 year old car that would do great with a more readily available, less expensive option? I buy the power steering fluid for my Honda at the dealer because it takes special fluid, but maxlife does great in whatever I've tried it in so far. My Camry shifted very nicely cold or hot with maxlife. 13 Corolla has it in the trans and there haven't been any issues.
