I know that the Maxlife Blend is a very stout oil and I am using it in my Odyssey because of the this reason along with the high Moly count, however I have read that this is not a great extended OCI oil. Will this 5W20 oil be okay in my 3.5L for 7500 miles you think, or should I do 5000 mile OCIs? Driving is about 50/50 mix with highway being about 15minutes/10miles each way 3-4 days a week.

There are a few Maxlife UOA posted here where it survived well to 7500 miles. Many people wouldn't consider that "extended", and I don't think Maxlife would be safe to 10,000+ miles, but 7500 under with your driving conditions I think would be safe.

I'd stick with 5000 mile OCI's max. I am a 3OOO mile fanatic. Maxlife is a good oil but it gets dirty too. Keep that engine clean.

I can't find the full synthetic anywhere by me. I can only find Mobil High Mileage. I am wondering if I should just stick with the Platinum for 7500 OCI's, just thought that I could save $7 and also Hondas like lots of Moly.
hmmmmm....now Im not goin to sleep tonight! :o

I bleed yellow (pennzoil yellow that is) and I happened to catch MaxLife syn blend at a price that a tried and true BITOGer couldn't pass up... sooo, the used oil analysis was simply fantastic. Very impressed with the MaxLife, I put 5,500 on it and still had a TBN of 3.7 or something like that, granted it was on a 03 corolla that is pretty easy on oil but nonetheless, it is an excellent oil. 5K should be a walk in the park for this oil.

genynnc thanks for the truthfull post! thats reassuring to hear. Maybe Ill just put it in for 7500 on this nice 3.5L and sleep well.
