$4 a quart? I’ll take all of them. Picked up 14 single quarts at Autozone. Kind of wondering why they put these on clearance. Maybe they want to clear out the API SP bottles to make room for the SQ bottles? Who knows but I’m here for it.

Yes, that's the most logical answer.
However, keep in mind that a fellow BITOG-er sludged his piston rings and increased his oil consumption with that same oil, even when changed every 5K miles. (thread and details below).

"Here are the oils I’ve used in detail:

500-35k miles Mobil 1 Full Synthetic 0w40
35k-100k miles Valvoline Extended Protection 5w30
100k-110k AMSOIL Signature Series 5w30
110k-130k Valvoline Restore and Protect 5w30"

autozone does weird stuff with oil. i wonder if they get it at a volume discount that makes it feasible to just push it out the door for anything to us bottom feeders because so many others just buy whatever whenever. not to mention the people who are proud to buy expensive oil, it makes the feel good or something $30 a quart🤯

yep that is how I think of VEP. Personally would pass!

Great now i see that thread after i just bought 2 5qt jugs of that for my Forester 😣😣😣. ughhhhhhhhhhhhhh
If you have a Subaru, I think your only options are: VRP, high quality Euro oil, Amsoil, HPL. That's it. Run VRP after this. It'll clean up what it left.

However, regarding the thread I posted above—are we sure the fellow BITOG-er was using that Valvoline EP for 5K miles or longer, thinking the oil is EP?
Because if it's been used longer that is fault of the user as well.
