Valvoline Conventional 5W20

I scored a few 5 quart jugs of Valvoline 5w20 conventional from Walmart for only 5 bucks a jug. However, after hearing about the advisory on Valvoline oil I'm a bit afraid to use it.

I was wondering what others think of this oil in this grade? Good/bad? Is it a synthetic blend because of being 5w20? How does it compare to other dino's in the same grade?

The advisory was on nexgen. Believe white bottle is all right.

You'll be just fine. This is the Valvoline conventional?
It's not advertised as a syn/blend but, I believe that most 5W20s have some GRP III mixed in just to meet spec.

I only do 3750 mile oci so I guess it should be good enough for that. Also, I noticed that Valvoline has a pour point of -44 which basically means it should be a good oil for winter use? Easier start ups? By the way, how does it compare to other dinos like Pennzoil Conventional and Quaker State Conventional, Castrol GTX, etc.,

That sale has been on for a while. VSP has been $10/jug. But finding a store that has some in stock is another story.

Well, I ended up selling my stack of 9 jugs of Valvoline conventional, had bought 10 jugs, used one, and sold the rest for 12 bucks a jug, around twice what I paid for them. Also, they were all 5w20 and my car "Nissan Rogue" calls for 5w30.

I do however, still have 8 jugs of Quaker State Ultimate Durability 5w30 which I also bought on clearance for only 5 bucks each. I think I'll be doing my next OCI using that.
