That is asinine. I look for those early SJ oils in my travels for my GTO and occasionally find them but I would never pay that for an old, out of date, yellowing bottle. I found some Havoline 10w30 of ~1996 vintage and the shop was happy to sell it to me for $.99, that is the kind of pricing you should expect on that sort of old stock oil. Negotiate a sensible price or pass.
