Holy mackerel Ncogburn - based on the carnage in the background of that pic, that must be a rough neighborhood. What kind of people would behead and dis-arm a helpless statue....

Anyone using a HDEO in a shared sump motorcycle? The VRSC manual recommends "oil certified for diesel engines", although not sure this applies to the CI-4, CI-4+, or CJ-4. The manual says CF-4, CG-4, CH-4. The CJ-4 oils were bottom rated in the TDR57 issue turbodieselregister.com, lower calcium and TBN, though maybe not important in the VRSC application.

remember this is a JASO-MA oil!!!

my bike has a shared wet sump.
the clutch was very very grabby to the point i was ready to dump it 50 feet from the truck. simply hated the clutch feel and shifting!
never mind that in 75 miles my Mix Master of DOOM sheared it out of grade.
but remember, this IS a JASO-MA rated oil!!!

i then put in Quaker State High Horsepower semi-synth 20w50 and the clutch feel was instantly back to perfect. the qs hh sheared to the same level in the same amount of time. but wait! it is not jaso-ma rated!!!

golly gee wiz batman, that can only mean that the jaso-ma rating don't mean SQUAT!!!
or
that many many more oils could pass the test, but don't care to.

and that is the *REAL* lesson to be learned!
On the topic of good clutch feeling oils I loooove the feel of my Rotella T 15w40 in my Ninja 250. Feels no different than using Kawasaki's own oil at half the cost.

my bike, an '09 Yamaha V Star 650, is doing great on Valvoline 10w-40 MC oil (black bottle) and will finish the season with a fresh change just before storage and will run it for @ 1000 miles in the spring and then start using my stash of Suzuki Boulevard V-Twin syn-blend 10w-40 MC oil I got on sale

I've used Amsoil and Rotella in my bike previously, and now use the Valvoline dino...I like the Valvoline the best...tranny seems to shift smoother with this oil...
