I have a small oil leak around the bolts that hold my valve covers on. There is a small grommet that should prevent oil from getting around the bolts so I am guessing that needs to be replaced. Any concern for me replacing these one at a time? I will need to replace two out of three. My concern would be having the cover not be torqued down correctly due to a couple of bolts being removed/replaced.

On the Subaru i would go ahead and do the VC gaskets as well.
Not difficult and is a known leak area. The answer to your question is maybe.

Try backing off, then tightening them, sometimes that's all you need. It doesn't have to be the exact torque, close enough will do. A little pressure, not a lot. You will feel it. If you open it up you should replace the whole gasket.
