It seems these thing sell very quickly here in Nebraska. I have a 2006 Nighthawk I'm considering buying for two grand. It has 3300 miles on it and looks to be in as near perfect condition as possible. Any thoughts?

It seems like a decent price to me. My little Monkey was $4000 plus fees. Low miles and good condition make the 2006 Nighthawk a good buy. Most of them have 10,000 more miles on them.
Eh it could be a good deal. The msrp was 3,600 as per google and with 06 to 23 inflation that would be 5,480 today which is the price of a new bike though better imo as these new bikes are more efficient and powerful and small engines highway fuel economy is a lot better now than before.
Maybe consider a new rebel 300 or similar from another brand and shop around which is what I'd do to be honest. Unless you just really really like the nighthawks look, but haggle it down to 2500 tops. I would not pay 3300 for it.

Price is 2grand, miles are 3,300.
They are great for teaching your girlfriend to ride on or take your motorcycle skills test on for those that don't want to take the MSF course. Beyond that I don't see much use for them. This is coming from someone that owns a Honda Twinstar, a very similar bike with 50 less CC's.
I was given the bike for free in non running condition ( just needed a new coil ) and what I use it for today is renting to Harley riders that don't stand a chance of passing the skills test at my local BMV for $100 a pop. This thing has paid for some of my other motorcycles the past 17 years I've owned it. It cost $24 a year to insure it and $28 a year for registration.
I was given the bike for free in non running condition ( just needed a new coil ) and what I use it for today is renting to Harley riders that don't stand a chance of passing the skills test at my local BMV for $100 a pop. This thing has paid for some of my other motorcycles the past 17 years I've owned it. It cost $24 a year to insure it and $28 a year for registration.
$2k sounds like a fair price to me.
EDIT: Is this a 750 or a 250? A 750 is probably worth $2500.
It will need new tires and carborator work... And all new fluids. If the brake juice has turned to poo that will be pain. Obviously, make sure there's no rust in the gas tank...

It actually looks pristine in the pictures on Facebook. Doesn't mean it is of course, but i guess I'll see tomorrow. Was one of four bikes used in a Motorcycle Safety Class. The other four sold for an average of 600 more for each. Last one has been on Facebook for 18 weeks. Wrong time of the year. If I don't like it, I'll make $500 on it this spring. 'Never dropped, no rips, no tears, no rust' according to ad. Supposedly serviced every two years. We'll see. I hope my 2023 KLX 300 doesn't get jealous.

the low speed handling on these bikes is far better than most people appreciate..
