They are great for teaching your girlfriend to ride on or take your motorcycle skills test on for those that don't want to take the MSF course. Beyond that I don't see much use for them. This is coming from someone that owns a Honda Twinstar, a very similar bike with 50 less CC's.
I was given the bike for free in non running condition ( just needed a new coil ) and what I use it for today is renting to Harley riders that don't stand a chance of passing the skills test at my local BMV for $100 a pop. This thing has paid for some of my other motorcycles the past 17 years I've owned it. It cost $24 a year to insure it and $28 a year for registration.
