Vacuum Coffee Storage Containers

I don't think anything can get ground coffee to stay fresh for more than a few days. What I do is:

1) buy whole-bean coffee
2) Keep in an airtight container (not necessarily vacuum)
3) buy no more than 2-3 weeks' suppluy
4) grind a small batch immediately before each use.

IMO I recommend

Glass canning jars with good seals.
A good quality burr grinder a $100 model will do
Grind right before you brew.
Remove grounds from above carafe ASAP.

won't try to guide you on coffee selection, everyone's taste buds are different.

I will experiment with grinding the beans stored airtight vs storing ground coffee . seems like the less air exposure the better . The outside of the whole bean is protecting the inner portion from the air .

I suppose if you enjoy the metabolism problems, sodium benzoate or potassium benzoate (mold inhibitors that cause severe damage to DNA in the mitochondria to the point that they totally inactivate it), rotting teeth from an average PH of 3.2 (three times the acidity of battery acid), and a two-fold increased risk for kidney decline, then you've selected the right product.

No. Battery acid has a pH of 0.8, soda 3.2.

pH=-log[H+].

pH 3.2: [H+] = 0.0006 M
pH 0.8: [H+] = 0.1585 M

Battery acid is 264 times more acidic than soda.
