Just got back from Daytona, Orlando & Naples. We drove down on the 14th then drove back yesterday & today. Very nice. Got to see family and friends and didn't spend too much.
In Daytona, spent a couple days with my 90yo grandmom. She kept us well fed with her amazing ham buns.
yum!
Free family pass for Universal park was great. That included the express line option...well worth it! Saved hours as we didn't have to wait in line for rides.
Naples weather was great and it was fun to mingle with all the other people out for the night on 5th street in the old section of town. Never got the chance to eat at Pazza on the strip, but the food smelled wonderful and was absolutely packed at 10pm at night. Sitting by the hotel's heated pool was thoroughly battery-recharging type of enjoyable while the 80F sun shined down even with 30+MPH breezes.
I was amazed at how fast traffic moves on I-75 in FLA. 85-90mph was usual. Conversely, traffic on I-75 in GA was SLOW. Too many cops, too much construction and Atlanta is rarely fun to drive thru.
Good to be back in TN after our first real vacation in 2 1/2 years. Too bad it's only 46F here today. Even saw some snow while traveling up the big hills of Chattanooga. What's up with THAT? Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
