The UV lamp for my water system is due to be replaced soon. Are the lamps hard to replace? Last year I Paid to have it replaced. I would like to see if I could change it my self. I have never replaced one before. It’s a Lancaster model LWT-UV009

Thanks

It's not hard, it's like stabbing a camshaft into a V8.

Walter is right about cleaning the junk in the quartz tube.

The "stack" will be the quartz tube sandwiched between a couple of o-rings that keep the water out, and is actually fairly fragile. But your bulb access should not have to disturb the stack. The sticker admonishing you to hand tighten only should be taken seriously.

I think I’m going to try to change the bulb myself. I found a PDF for the unit online. It doesn’t look that hard to change. I tried my local hardware store but they don’t carry UV bulbs. I ordered one from Amazon. Supposed to be delivered tomorrow. Hopefully I can change it one night this week or over the weekend.
