USPS scam/email virus

I just got a funny email from "USPS " with an attachment.

The title said: "Your parcel is given for the safekeeping"


This is what was in the message:

Our company's courier couldn't make the delivery of parcel.
Status\Fee isn't paid.

LOCATION:Cincinnati
DELIVERY STATUS: not delivered
SERVICE: Expedited Shipping
NUMBER OF YOUR PARCEL:U642340087NU
INSURANCE: Yes

The label of your parcel is enclosed to the letter.
Print your label and show it in the nearest post office of USPS

Important information!
If the parcel isn't received within 30 working days our company will have the right to claim compensation from you for it's keeping in the amount of $21.80 for each day of keeping over limited time.

You can find the information about the procedure and conditions of parcels keeping in the nearest office.

It amazes me how many people still fall for these scams; the reason the frauds keep perpetuating them is because idiots fall for it.

If I've learned anything from the internet, it's that most everything is a scam online. If it wouldn't seem right in the real world, why would it be legit online?!?
 
I agree. I get these from time to time and what's more amazing is even with the butchered English in e-mails like this, people still fall for them. It's obvious by the sentence structure the writer of this e-mail is not someone where English is their native language
 
Ive been telling my wife for quite some time, if they make an example out of a few of these scammers, this nonsense will stop. And by example, I mean a public flogging!
 
I believe I recieved this same or similar USPS Delivery Problem email yesterday @ ~7:15PM. My email server quarantined it and advised not viewing message with a virus attached. Virus detected was: CMU-201203-1332938316
